Letter of Recommendation from University Professor in the U.S.
To Whom It May Concern,
It is my honor to write this letter in endorsement of Dr.Kosuke Fukutomi. Dr.Fukutomi spent 2 years at UCLA in the Center for Esthetic Dentistry. There he showed exceptional talent and dedication in the care of his patients. He completed many challenging cases, and continually impressed his patients and attending faculty.
As Assistant Director for the UCLA CED during Dr.Fukutomi’s time at the practice, I got the opportunity to see his talents firsthand. I have seen many dentists come through this program and he continues to stand out as among the best we ever had. It is with great confidence that I can recommend the dental care provided by Dr.Fukutomi.
On behalf of UCLA, I am very proud of his accomplishments and continue to watch his future career with great interest.
Sincerely.
Todd R.Schoenbaum,DDS,FACD
Associate Clinical Professor – UCLA
Director – UCLA Continuing Education
Former Assistant Director – UCLA Center for Esthetic Dentistry
Greetings From the Doctor
I have three years of experience in dental care at UCLA in the United States: one year in general dentistry and two years in esthetic dentistry. I’ve experienced real English through studying and practicing dental care in the US as well as consulting with local patients about their concerns and requests.
Even after returning to Japan, I have been engaging in insurance-covered dentistry, preventive dentistry, and esthetic dentistry for many non-Japanese patients at the general dentist office in Japan.
When I moved to the United States, I was living in Los Angeles but I had many concerns and worries at first as I didn’t know anything about the city. Similarly, non-Japanese residents in Japan and in Tokyo might have some concern when searching for hospitals in a non-English speaking country. For those who have just moved to an unfamiliar town or those who have only been in Japan for a short time, it’s probably even more difficult to find dentists and hospitals.
I would be glad if we could provide a sense of relief to such patients through dental care and prevention.
I’m confident that we can offer stress-free communication. Please feel free to contact us via phone or email for any requests or inquiries.
General Dentistry
General dentistry for cavities and periodontal disease. Small cavities can be treated with white fillings. Root canal treatment is conducted for large cavities.
Visit us for any of the following symptoms:
- Tooth pain or discomfort
- Chipped front tooth / back tooth
- Detached, chipped, or cracked crown/filling
Checkups & Cleaning
“I don’t have any symptoms that I’m currently concerned with, but I used to have regular checkups and teeth cleaning in my home country. Now that I live in Japan, I don’t know which clinic to go to for checkups and cleaning, so I haven’t done anything about it.”
We often receive such comments from non-Japanese patients. Visit our clinic for continual regular checkups and teeth cleaning even in Japan.
We offer services such as stain removal, as well as cleaning, scaling, fluorine varnish, and Airflow treatment for prevention of cavity and periodontal disease.
Esthetic Dentistry
Dental Bonding
Esthetic composite resin material is applied and hardened to repair chipped front teeth, to close spaces between teeth for a natural look, or as an alternative to back teeth fillings. Consult us for preoperative simulations.

Porcelain Fillings and Crowns
Treatment using inlays and crowns made from dental porcelain such as Zirconia. We partner with UCLA-trained dental technicians for construction of esthetic crowns and laminate veneers for the front teeth.

Esthetic Dentistry / Porcelain Treatments
Material | Price | Notes |
---|---|---|
Zirconia Crown |
165,000JPY |
The best quality among porcelain crowns. It is suitable for front teeth where esthetics is pursued, and especially for nonvital teeth with a metal base. It gives a very beautiful finish. |
Ceramic Crown |
110,000JPY |
As it doesn’t use any metal, you will not be able to tell the difference from real teeth. Ceramic Crowns will also give a beautiful finish, just as beautiful as Zirconia Crowns. |
Porcelain Veneer |
143,000JPY |
A very thin layer of the tooth’s surface is scraped and a porcelain-shell is bonded to the surface using special cement. This technique is used for front teeth to pursue esthetics to a higher degree. |
Ceramic Onlay |
88,000JPY |
Porcelain used for parts where cusps of the teeth are covered (bicuspids and molars). |
Ceramic Inlay |
77,000JPY |
Porcelain used for parts where teeth are partially covered (bicuspids and molars). |
Dental Bonding |
33,000~55,000JPY |
A cosmetic composite resin is bonded to the tooth to alter the tooth’s shape, making teeth appear straighter and more pleasing to the eye. It usually takes only one appointment. |
The office visit fee is required each time.
Gold
Gold has almost the same strength as teeth enamel, and is a low-allergy material. Aside from the esthetics aspect, it has the best biocompatibility.
